Spyker bike
Ok, I saw this thing in Maxim, it’s like a train wreck for me, I couldn’t look away.

more detailed pictures.
Corey, notice the Rohloff hub?
Over all a total waste of money for $16,000 but I do like the leather grips and the absurd use of carbon. I think they said that all of the leather is comes from the skin of the endangered orange bellied somolian goat herder’s dog. It’s very rare.
This is the car you are supposed to buy as an accessory to the bike.

The bike weighs a mere 12,8 kg (with conventionally spoked wheels the bike weighs 11,5 kg).
I love that quote. The bike is bad in actuality, but has some conceptually interesting bits, in that alot of the parts were custom made (dont confuse custom with handmade) bits ala old french touring bikes. The wheels and the exact shape of the worthless fenders are dubious if not outright ugly. (fenders need to extend much further down the back of the wheels to get any sort of effective coverage. quilted saddles are worthless. Why doesnt it have drop bars? my question would be to the salesman: 16000 bucks and only one hand position?
OK, but the pimp finish on the formula brakes and that sweet bashgaurd! Did anyone notice that at 16 grand the transition from seat stay to bullet cap to dropout looks like it was welded by a monkey?
First: It isn’t a bash guard, “The Spyker logo is imprinted on the chain cover”. It’s a chain cover.
Second:
“The design of the mudguards has been based on the form of airplane wheel fairings (as also used for the mudguards/fenders of the Spyker 13/30 PK ‘conduite interieur’ built in 1919) as well as the swirled aluminum dashboard of the current Spyker.”
See Casey, your are a fool, everyone knows that the best mud guards are based on swirled aluminum dashboards.
