  1. Yeah, that wasn’t very scientific. It’s one guys opinion of how the clothes felt.

    That would be like sending you on a bike ride with wool helmet versus a plastic one. Of course your going to like the wool one because it’s retro stylish like an afro and you love wool.

  2. i think this guy made these clothes not cause he wanted to rock the retro style, but because he was trying to prove the retro clothing could work in a severe alpine environment, ie further proof that mallory could have summited everest, in that his clothing wasnt holding him back.
    besides all that, look at whats happening in alpine clothing right now: a return to wool and silk. my guess is that after people say: oh fuck wool works for under garments, they’ll start to think, oh fuck what about waxed cotton? its all cyclical. it just needs to be couched as innovation. they need, as marketers to be perceived as moving forward. so new waxed cotton will be more stylee, not as heavy, feel better, whatever. but cummon: 20% lighter clothing used in 1924 than what is used to summit today? thats a camera and spare o2 tank, i bet.
