2006 winter MD ramble

James will have to post more, but i was supposed to leave him pictures, so i put them on a cd and took it with me to the czech republic. oh well, so here i am in Prague and will start out the post.

md ramble at the Catoctin Furnace

On Sunday we did a nice ramble.

md ramble crossing US-15

Five folks, a bit over 45 miles. first road, then singletrack, then a bit more road, then gravel to dirt roads to more singletrack, a little doubletrack, a nice overlook a stream crossing, a farmer’s field, lunch on my sister’s back porch, then a brutally steep road climb and downhill home.

Fun appeared to be had by all. we weren’t in a big hurry, but made pretty good progress withstanding some very rocky terrain at points with everything from 23c carbon tires up to some sweet fat 35 cross tires. And of course finished all off with a couple of beers.

That ride looks like it was fucking awesome. I’m really sorry that I missed it. I don’t know what the spoke card situation ended up being but I have a bunch of elephant spoke cards with the wrong date on it. If any one wants one let me know and I’ll throw it in the mail.

Yep that ride was a blast and I hope that everyone now kown about Cory’s idea of not much climbing. Thanks to who ever setup the link to CCC. I will have my guy link back.

Guess our punishment for not being there to hang out with you guys during the pity stop was deletion of our beer and bread supply. Thanks a lot! :) Wish there was a grocery/beer store in Wolfsville!
