   i’m sorry you feel that way! we had a lot of fun making it, and contrary to what you might think, are pretty fucking hardcore. this was meant to reflect the spirit of inclusive activism happening here in victoria- ie., getting as many people to ride as possible and to have shitloads of fun doing it.

   i like your blog, though.

   Frances,
   Thanks for the complement. You are right in assuming. I didn’t see anything in that video that was hardcore, at best it was softcore. You had girls in underwear dancing to missy elliot, you had a guy drinking water trying to do a track stand, and another guy doing Napoleon Dynamite jumps. How is that hardcore? Girls should have been naked, water guy should have done a track stand at a stop light while drinking a bottle of whiskey in front of a cop, Napoleon should have been in Vancouver doing sweet 50ft drops. That would have been hardcore.

   thanks for your reply.

   it wasn’t my intent to show the hardcore side of victoria’s riders, which we do have in abundance. if you’ll do a quick search, you will find plenty of dudes doing hardcore stuff while drunk, lots of naked (and shaven, too!) ladies on hot bikes, and so on. we were mostly just screwing around and having fun & not trying to prove anything other than that victoria is a sweet place to live and ride.

   it would be gentlemanly of you to simply remove my video if you don’t like it… it’s not very gentlemanly (or clever-seeming) to trash a video due to the appearance (hairy or otherwise) of people in it. if you are not so much of a gentleman, that’s fine too. neither am i. also, for the record, i fucking hate granola.

   BTW I don’t really want to remove this post. You are the most lively commenter we’ve had since Johnson had a post about SUVs and the war in Iraq. We didn’t take that post down until he started getting death threats.

   Here is what I found when looking for hardcore victoria, you are right, riders up there are shaven, but I don’t think they are riding bikes.
