Coup d’état take two d’état with some more youtube d’état

Looks like someone is slacking in the 500 words or less essay department so I’m staging another take over with videos and other trivialities. Here’s to the bad youtube stuff category.

I really like the deceptive marketing here. I think I saw those kids pedal twice. You know that “engine” just makes a lot of noise.

Oooh baby I like it (Horse) raw

I’m a bit ashamed to say this but it was very tasty!
Shimmy shimmy ya shimmy yeah shimmy yay

Bicycle (Or Horse) Mapping Sites Compared

Here is a good list of mapping sites.

Most of these are built on Google Maps, and feature the same basic interface. I haven’t found one that’s perfect yet. Mostly I use Gmaps Pedometer and RouteSlip. I just found MapMyRide, so I need to play with it a bit more before deciding whether it’s worth [...]

France with a horse, Nirvana!

In order to cater to the real purpose of this blog I have a quick video that I think everyone will love

Retrospective. Videos and photos. Music from the Horse Whisperer soundtrack
I think “Gloriapower” said it best in the comments:
As if being in France is not paradise enough, being in France with a horse, Nirvana!
Don’t forget [...]

This is Tramp Bike Bitches

Welcome to the seedy underworld of tramp bike videos.

Seriously though, what the fuck? You know this will be at the X Games next year.

Devils Advocate: Do You Have to Love Critical Mass?

Disclaimer: This post is probably contrary to the views of this blog. -Starmer
I’m not sure that Critical Mass is actually effective in accomplishing its “unofficial goals”. I understand that there is no “offical” message because the is no official critical mass, but I believe that most of the people who participate in critical mass want [...]

Gotta Love Critical Mass

SFGate has a mildly slanted story about a Critical Mass ride in San Francisco where a crazy bitch in a minivan plowed into some cyclists (that’s my slant).

Bicycle Coalition executive director Leah Shahum said witnesses told her that Ferrando “recklessly accelerated” into a crowd and hit the bicyclist so hard the bike was lodged [...]

Hunting and Gathering

This project smacks of Deller.

He had better luck with squirrels — eight in all, though one had to be rejected for mange. He caught them in the same backyard using both a mink trap and a modified rat trap. The rat trap just knocked them out, he explained. “So then I went out and thumped [...]

Core support group

Its nice to see that we are far more popular with crazy french horse lovers than we are with the American cycling community.

I propose we rename the blog ‘course cheval velo’, in honor of our new patrons.
see the details of my proposal here.
Also: Napoleon was nuts, as seen here calling in an airstrike, years before [...]

World’s Hardest Ride and Attempted Suicide

so cory, in cory fashion, decided to host a final frederick area ride. everyone pleaded for a casual, slow, flat ride. we brought our singlespeeds to help with the argument. but, as nick predicted:
9:57 AM
me: I think we can talk him outta it.
me: by getting him really drunk the nite [...]
