Christine has a new bike…again.

So a neighbor of ours moved out last week and offered me a Bianchi road bike she was given when she graduated college in 88′. I, of course, accepted the offer excitedly and went over to pick it up. It had bio-pace chainrings on it and needed to be cleaned up a bit and fit for Christine. So after some new parts and a little adjustment, here is the 88′ Bianchi Strada LX with an updated crankset and a James Johnson approved stem (and hieght I think).

At first she wasn’t too into this bike and it’s drop bars, levers, and down tube shifters. But she has since warmed up to it and I think secretly really likes it. We’ll have to do some more adjustments and fine tuning and I’ll eventually put some Tourgaurds on it and better pedals.
I like it though and think it’s cool she has a lugged road bike from 80’s that was free.

  1. break off that spoke guard man! also: i bet tourguards wont fit. also: black cork tape?

  2. Man, that’s a vintage weathered plastic spoke gaurd from 1988 dude….it’s like, historic and shit. Funny, but I was just out in the shed looking at the Strada and thought the same thing about the Paselas. She really likes the Bianchi tape, I just switched to the Cinelli cork tape and did 20 miles (with Mark) and found it really not that comfortable. Check my post about the tape job for more details.

  3. if you want real discomfort: bennotto plastic tape.

also: i’m in town 2 weeks starting tuesday: gotta ride lots
