NYC is doing a number of things in an effort to become more bicycle friendly. the latest is part of a larger “coordinated”, as in visually, outdoor furniture effort by cemusa (street furniture manufacturer and franchisee) together with Grimshaw architects. although newstands, bus stops, and public toilets are already in the works, these just got approval…

i can’t think of any greater courtesy the city of New York could provide to a bike thief than shelter from the elements, a visual obstruction, and “one stop shopping” if you will. i can’t help but think someone could’ve done better.

i’m guessing you can thank Grimshaw’s newest intern for the weak-assed rendering and photo integration…

  2. you are a render whore. i think you should A. post all your furniture designs here, and write about them in a smart, engaging way, and B. take out adds in 4 major consumer design mags, ie Dwell, and take pre-orderes to get the money together to put them into production.
