A site about lugs, tan sidewalls, maybe jazz, classical, punk and bluegrass, local riding, worldly riding and people, cool cats, lame ducks, 110 bcds, wool, and smelling like hell after a long ride.

Wow, people actually play bike polo

bike polo fixed gear

Couple of great things about this, bike polo is awesome, the bike’s freaky eye motif, the bike polo on a fixed gear, and the fact that he uses the term sawbuck. I wonder if the ease of track stand with the fixed gear gives some kind of advantage in bike polo.

not this guys bike but it’s a bike polo video for those who haven’t seen it before:

Duh, weren’t you there in 2002 when I obtained the official rules of bike polo along with a demonstration video? Well, we had them but I dont’ think that we ever tried to play since none of us had cross bikes at the time (which is the recommended type of bike).

I was there and I remember how our attempts to get people together failed miserably so I assumed that everyone else’s attempts failed too thereby killing the sport forever. But looks like I was wrong.

We should think about replacing croquet with bike polo at the next ride.
