"We" didn't let Houts close. Larry Houts, the heir and president of the company, let it close. Instead of walking through the store, overseeing operations, he sat in the back room, with obsolete lawn mower parts, reading magazines, while the business crumbled around him. The best efforts of his employees couldn't keep Houts afloat, while the owner was completely disinterested. Visit the cemetary where his family is buried (near the Benner Pike WalMart) and look at the Houts tombstone which pictures a Penn State camper. The tasteless, mindless "tailgating" mentality of Larry Houts is the reason the store closed. Orlando must be turning in his grave; Larry should be ashamed.
