A site about lugs, tan sidewalls, maybe jazz, classical, punk and bluegrass, local riding, worldly riding and people, cool cats, lame ducks, 110 bcds, wool, and smelling like hell after a long ride.

weather report, final head count, anything else?

looks like we are going to have low voter turnout low rider turnout for saturday’s ride.  too bad, cause the weather wont suck like it did for last january’s ride.

sign in/leave a comment if you think you can come.  want a final head count sort of thing.

weather outlook: 40s, partly clouding, 30% chance of awesome riding.  ooooh that was a bad joke.

(look, i aint lyin’)

reminder: this ride will meet at 10 @ the sugar loaf main parking lot, at the bottom of the mtn, in that brick parking lot.  how to get there?  google this address:

Comus Rd & Sugarloaf Mountain Rd
Dickerson, MD 20842

its not too hard to find, provided you have a slide rule and some 1:1o ratio topo maps + an intimate knowledge of the surrounding area.  actually its not that bad.

10 am, mail me a letter if you arnt coming.

Guestimate: the ride will take us all damn day.  eating, riding the ferry, general shit shooting, ect, take time, and so, just to be on the safe side, bring a blinker light at least.

I’m actually gunna bring an area map, in case my directions are knackered.  someone besides me print some out, just in case i forget.

word?  word.

my work schedule is as always uncertain…but if i’m not working, i’m driving 300 miles so i can ride for 50.

thats what i like to hear! at ride lugged we advocate a riding to driving ratio of at least 1:3. Those who live too close are encouraged to circle the block, preferably in something larger than a yukon. those that live in frederick can just leave the car running overnite.

As penance for not doing the ride (I have a bum back), I will host the after-ride food and beer fest (I meaning Rob, Hutch, and me). We provide: Meat and vegetarian chilis, cornbread, maybe dessert???, background music. You bring: alcoholic beverage of choice. The headcount would be helpful for shopping/planning purposes.

We live north of downtown Frederick at 805 Trail Ave. Mapquest us or just follow Rob here after the ride. Mel, since you are quitting the ride early, you can come back to the house and help me cook, right? :)

Hmmm…, seems to me that a drive from State College, PA to Sugarloaf for a fifty miler is more or less of a 1:5 ratio…at that rate, since I live in Frederick, I would have to circle the block all night in a Yukon limo that was doused and ignited with the fuel I siphoned from all the enormous vehicles on my block…
    what?
