Winter Polo season has begun

So I met up with some czechs, belges, and americans here in Prague, made some mallets, and started screwing around on street hockey courts a few weeks ago.

Well this week-end we threw down for real. We started playing some legit games on a newly discovered marble court on a historic platform of the Restaurant PRAHA-EXPO ’58 from the 1958 World’s Fair.

It was a blast. It made me sore.

  1. marble court?? i thought this shit normally took place on grass, with less head breaking open action.

  2. It’s usually on hardcourt. Only hippies and ponies play on grass.

Rubber traction is actually pretty impressive on the marble, at least until you break into a skid. Actually the only dodgy part is when you turn the bars sharply while pedaling and the bike jackknifes or keeps going straight and falls out of control!

And head breaking seems to be less of a problem than say, palm, wrist, and hip impacts to the ground and knees into bike parts?!
